Save Auridon & Firsthold
Blackwood isn’t the only place in Tamriel’s second era where Mehrunes Dagon’s agents are stirring up trouble. Indeed, the final part of the Auridon zone storyline has more than its fair share of cultists, portals, and Daedra. Located upon the island’s northern shore, Firsthold is under siege, and you must help the agents of Queen Ayrenn (including a particularly charming Khajiit) defend the city and shut down the portals to the Deadlands.
The Auridon zone is available with the ESO base game, and you can get there by taking a Wayshrine to the township of Vulkhel Guard—look for Watch Captain Astanya to get started in the zone storyline.
Delve into City of Ash 1 & 2
Find more Deadlands-flavored fun in both versions of the City of Ash dungeon. In City of Ash 1, you must enter the burnt city of Whisper Grove and push back the Daedra that have invaded. In City of Ash 2, the story continues with an expedition into the Deadlands and a confrontation with the powerful Daedra at the invasions’ heart.

Both versions of the City of Ash dungeon are available with the ESO base game, and you can travel there either by using the Dungeon Finder or by accessing it directly via its entrance in Greenshade.
Get to Know Lyranth and Eveli
While both Lyranth and Eveli Sharp-Arrow will help you throughout the year-long Gates of Oblivion adventure, both characters also play roles in previous ESO stories. Why not get to know and learn more about these two very different characters before teaming up to take on the minions of Mehrunes Dagon?
You can find Lyranth within the Imperial City Prison dungeon (free Imperial City DLC in the Crown Store), the Shadowfen zone questline (base game), and the Coldharbour zone questline (base game). Eveli awaits you within the Wrothgar zone questline (Orsinium DLC). Both characters also seek your aid within the Flames of Ambition dungeon DLC—more on that below!
Discover the Flames of Ambition
Of course, one of the best ways to kick off your Gates of Oblivion adventure is to begin with the Flames of Ambition dungeon DLC. Setting up the events of the Blackwood Chapter and Prologue questline, both the Cauldron and Black Drake Villa dungeons challenge you and your party and begins a story that leads to Oblivion itself.

You can get access to the Flames of Ambition DLC game pack by purchasing it with Crowns from the in-game Crown Store or via ESO Plus™ membership.
Complete the Blackwood Prologue
Bridging the gap between the Flames of Ambition DLC and the upcoming Blackwood Chapter, the Prologue questline has you team up with both Eveli Sharp-Arrow and Lyranth to investigate the operations of a new Daedric cult. What you uncover in these two quests leads directly into The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood and has consequences for the rest of the Gates of Oblivion adventure!
Prepare to enter the Deadlands
